TDC opens 4G to customers

Denmark's digital infrastructure is making a major technological advancement today with a dramatic improvement in mobile broadband speed and user experience in Denmark. When TDC opens its 4G network to users from today, it will set new standards for Internet usage in Denmark, and customers in the 10 largest cities in Denmark can look forward to the many opportunities 4G offers to both private individuals and businesses.

“With the launch of 4G, TDC is breaking new ground in what mobile Internet can be used for. You can send and receive even very large files and business documents much faster and more efficiently than before. There will be even better opportunities for everything from gaming and streaming direct television to downloading music and sharing videos with the rest of the world. You can do everything you can do today, just 10 times faster and better,” explains Johan Kirstein Brammer, Director of TDC Mobile.

Infrastructure to meet future mobile broadband needs
With today’s launch of 4G, TDC is leading the way in developing the infrastructure for the future mobile Internet in Denmark. The need for and usage of mobile broadband among Danes has seen strong growth in recent years, but increased capacity offered by the 4G network means that many more Internet users can be online via the same mobile antenna at the same time, without detracting from the speed experienced.

“4G represents a major improvement to the mobile broadband user experience. TDC has already improved its mobile broadband portfolio several times this year, with a focus on greater user-friendliness. The introduction of 4G as a top-line product will give TDC customers the opportunity to use their mobile broadband in new ways,” reports Johan Kirstein Brammer.

Tested by business users
TDC was the first provider in Denmark to begin testing 4G last year. Since then, TDC has arranged for a number of public and private companies of varying size and with different data needs to test 4G in the daily course of their business. As a result, TDC can now present a world-class 4G network.

“TDC’s top priority is to provide all TDC network customers with reliable service and quality experiences. Our network has been so thoroughly tested that we have a product which adds real value for our customers from day one in terms of a fast and stable broadband connection, with Denmark's most comprehensive coverage,” adds Jess Ibsen, who as TDC's Technology Director was responsible for rolling out the network.

Denmark’s most comprehensive network
The addition of the 4G network further improves TDC’s nationwide mobile network.

“The launch of 4G today represents a milestone for digital infrastructure in Denmark. TDC can now offer all Danes a seamless mobile network with some of the highest broadband speeds available, across our 2G, 3G and 4G networks. TDC is binding digital Denmark together,” notes Jess Ibsen.
