Today, TDC launches a new ground-breaking music service offering unlimited access to music downloads to their Danish mobile and broadband customers, without additional charge.
The new music service called PLAY, premieres tonight at one minute past midnight. From launch, it will offer more than one million music tracks from Danish and International artists.
With PLAY, TDC is the first telco in the world to offer consumers unlimited music downloads ‘bundled' with private broadband or mobile subscriptions, at no extra cost.
TDC's and YouSee's existing broadband and mobile customers - with the exception of a few subscription types - will, as of midnight, automatically have full access to PLAY, although broadband customers have to create a TDC-login (free of charge) in advance. The ability to play any downloaded tracks will expire automatically if the customer terminates their subscription. The PLAY service will also provide users with the opportunity to purchase their favourite tracks for 8dkk (approx. €1) per download
PLAY offers music from the major Danish and some of the major international music companies. The total PLAY offering covers at present about 70 per cent of the current music on the Danish market.
TDC presents PLAY at a press conference today at 3 pm at Store Vega, Enghavevej in Copenhagen. Representatives from the some of the music companies will also be present. TDC will issue more details during the press conference at 4 p.m. CET.
